To travel from Kyoto to Shizuoka, the most efficient way is by Shinkansen bullet train. The Tokaido Shinkansen line directly connects the two cities. We advise travelers to use *Hikari* or *Kodama* trains. The *Nozomi* train, while faster, does not stop at Shizuoka Station. Departures are from Kyoto Station and arrivals are at Shizuoka Station.

The cost of a Shinkansen ticket between Kyoto and Shizuoka generally varies. For a reserved seat, the price is typically around 8,000 to 9,000 JPY. The fare may vary slightly depending on the season and the type of train (Hikari or Kodama). For Japan Rail Pass holders, the journey is covered on Hikari and Kodama trains, but not on the Nozomi.
