Does the JR East Pass (Nagano/Niigata Area) cover the Shinkansen to Kanazawa Station?

No, the JR East Pass (Nagano/Niigata Area) does not cover the entire Hokuriku Shinkansen journey to Kanazawa. This pass allows the use of the Hokuriku Shinkansen between Tokyo and Jōetsumyōkō, inclusive. Beyond Jōetsumyōkō, towards Kanazawa, a separate ticket is required. The portion of the journey between Jōetsumyōkō and Kanazawa must be paid for additionally.
