Nikko is one of the most popular day trips to take from Tokyo. However, its geographical remoteness and the distance between the various attractions make individual travel a bit complicated in practice. Especially if you want to go to Lake Chuzenji and Kegon Falls. Nikko's most beautiful attractions

Upon arrival in Nikko, discover one by one the jewels of this spiritual city, in particular the Toshogu Shrine, mausoleum of the famous shogun Ieyasu Tokugawa and symbol of the city. The site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, dates back to the early 17th century. Your English-speaking guide will show you the richly ornamented gates, the woodcarving of the three wise monkeys, the sleeping cat, the groaning dragon room, Ieyasu's sepulchre on the heights at the back of the shrine...

At noon, have lunch in a typical restaurant to taste the local gastronomy, before continuing the visit towards the lake Chuzenji and the Kegon falls.

Practical information

The meeting point is at 8:05 am at the Keio Plaza Hotel in Shinjuku, 3F JTB Sunrise Tours Sales Office.

You will have about 2 hours and 40 minutes of bus ride before arriving in Nikko. The return to Tokyo will be at about 7 or 7:30 pm.

The tour will be conducted in English and will include the use of earphones in some areas of the tour.

Please note that the programme may be subject to change due to weather or traffic conditions to Nikko (especially during the autumn season when the leaves turn red, and Nikko attracts many travellers).
